Game Overview“Quite possibly one of the most entertaining pieces of software I have ever seen.” The Shattered Crystal is a cross-curricular problem solving adventure game for children between the ages of seven and thirteen. Visually stimulating and following a carefully crafted story line, it provides children with opportunities to explore a virtual world, engaging them in a multitude of interesting and motivating educational activities with defined attainable goals. Working individually, or in small groups, children are given opportunities to develop their team working, lateral thinking, reasoning and problem solving skills whilst having fun in the process. Developed in conjunction with children working at Key Stage 2, The Shattered Crystal has been designed to keep the interest of players and to stimulate logical "what if…?" thinking. All of the major puzzles can be individually accessed, independently from the main game, and so can be used by the class teacher to concentrate on a specific teaching topic. A set of ‘teacher options’ controls some of the game’s more advanced features such as a save and load facility. In-game help will keep track of problems still to solve and places yet to visit. The interface is self-explanatory and intuitive – children will pick it up in no time. “The graphics are stunning and with such a variety of different places to visit this will keep children motivated for hours.”
